Hi there!
So, a few of you have been asking where I’ve been, what have I been up to and why I stopped blogging!
I’m still here! Lol. Sorry guys, for the little pause in the blog…
Truth be told, I’m a pretty private person.. Social media doesn’t come naturally to me.. I have always loved writing, but opening up and allowing people into my mind through this blogging world can get downright intimidating and a little overwhelming. Lol noooo, really? I actually haven’t stopped writing, but just haven’t been “posting” as much. It’s a bit of a process for me, but bear with me darlings. I am back now and will try to stay more current. π
Going to back track here a bit on this post…I wrote this in the beginning of November. It’s just a little project I’d like to share, not a big deal at all (only to me :))) hope you like it! π
November/1st/2016
It’s literally a new season! Autumn! Oh, how I love this time of year. The air is so fresh and the colors so vibrant.
I will admit though, Fall is a little different here in Arizona. We are creeping our way up to December but it’s still a bit too warm during the day, in the 80s (if we’re lucky). And if we want to see any change in color we need to make a two hour drive up north. But at least it’s not in the triple digits..and in the mornings and evenings, ahhhh… We finally get to feel that cool crispy air!
Which means we spend a lot more time outside! But I’ll tell ya what. I don’t really take the kiddos to the park that often. At 31 weeks, I’m at the point in my pregnancy that running around, climbing through those play structures and sliding down the slides are not all too comfy. Of course, Noah is big enough to do all that on his own, but Aurora isn’t quite there yet. So I’m not a fan of the park lately. We love to visit the library and spend time in their play area outside…
Believe it or not, Home Depot has become our choice activity a few times a week! The greeters at the door already know us by name haha. I don’t know guys…it must be this nesting faze or something. Something about “home improvement!” And I love the way it smells in there too! We especially love the garden center. We walk around there as if we’re visiting the botanical gardens or something. Lol… We talk about the different variety of colors in the flowers, which plants do well in the sun or shade and oh, the fascination with the cactus area! The kids and I enjoy it for sure…
Now we have several projects going on around the house, like the back yard (that’s a big one), adding a sliding door in the family room, Aurora’s room, the kids’ bathroom and a few DIY’s on the go.
And again, though it wasn’t on the “to do list,” it’s only natural that my kiddos and I felt inspired to spruce up the front yard a bit. I mean, how could we not with all that time at the awesome Home Depot? Ha! So we added a splash of color by planting a few Fall-ish feeling orange flowers that Noah chose. I’m not sure how it happened, but we ended up giving our front door area a little makeover too. Here are a few pics…
We found a an old steel bench that needed some love at a garage sale.. $5.. BOOM!
What!?
Imagination, people…this old thing had potential!
So, gave it a little makeover by spray painting it a rose gold… And a quick trip to Joanna’s Fabric, found me some black and white striped outdoor material (ON SALE!!!). I put together a long cushion and *Voila!* LOVE the way it turned out!
*Ahem* …#loveit π
This definitely wasn’t part of the plan, but somehow ended up painting the screen door black, and I’m so glad I did!
This is the screen door before painted…
(This is after I spray painted the bench a rose gold…just imagine how it all worked together when the bench was an orange red)
And added a wooden wreath for contrast. And *Ta-da!*Β This is the end result!!! (well, maybe not the “official” end result…I feel like it would be nice to add a little bit of green somewhere in here…maybe a pot with a few succulents…)
And, of course, a new door mat was needed with all these *brilliant* changes. Lol.
These are all small changes, but it was time for a little makeover! And to this preggers mama, it feels like a big deal.
What have your latest DIY projects been? Would love to see them!
Talk soon…xoxo
